How To Get Through hard Times

From all the emails, Facebook messages and other engagement I have with people from all over the world, people are struggling.

If this is you, I have got 4 ideas that I would like to share with you that have literally pulled me through some of my most difficult times, and I am certain that if you apply them, they will help you through yours too.

You know what they say if you are going through hell?…Keep going, otherwise things are really going to heat up!

That may sound funny but some people allow their challenging circumstances to weaken them to the point where they stop moving forward and almost become helpless.

Watch the video below…

If anything, this is a time to ramp up your daily activity and to decide not to allow fear or insecurity to stop you. If you allow fear to stop you, you start a perpetuating cycle where the more you don’t do anything, the more fearful you become and the more you won’t do anything.

Before you know it, you have arrived at a point called “learned helplessness”

Secondly, let me put it to you straight. Don’t feel sorry for yourself. Letting everyone else know how tough you are having it is never going to solve your challenges.

If anything, you are giving away your power by relinquishing your response-ability or your ability to respond in a way that will empower you.

A bad attitude will shut down your ability to access the very internal resources that you need to effectively and efficiently resolve what is bothering you in the first place.

Conversely, a great attitude allows you to take full control of your resources, giving you the power to be be resourceful when you need it most.

Third, be courageous! There are two ways to meet your difficulties. You can alter the difficulties or you can alter yourself to meet them.

It was Michelle Obama who said “You should never view your difficulties as a disadvantage. Instead, it is important for you to understand that your experience of facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.”

The struggle you are facing is necessary and it is summoning you to show up, be strong and use it to forge a better future for yourself and for your loved ones.

And lastly, find a mentor, role model or coach who has been in a situation similar to yours and ask for help!

If they are good, they will get into the hole with you and show you the way out!

So to quickly recap. If you are going through a really tough time, no matter what, don’t stand still.

Secondly, take control of your attitude.

Thirdly, demonstrate courage at the deepest level.

Lastly, find someone who has been there before and ask for directions!
